22nd Annual Juneteenth VIP Reception In-Person

Join the California State Library and Juneteenth Sacramento for a live reception on Thursday, June 19 at 5:30 PM! 

Celebrating 160 years of freedom, Juneteenth celebrates the Emancipation Proclamation and marks when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas were told they were free by Union troops, nearly 2 years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed by President Abraham Lincoln. The California State Library and Juneteenth Sacramento invite you to light refreshments and remarks in our fragrance garden at out 900 N Street location.
We will  present our 2025 Juneteenth Community Award to three deserving Community Soldiers: Ms. Pleshette Robertson, owner, Sacculturalhub. Mr. Antonio Ray Harvey, independent journalist and author, Mr. Theo Dixon, owner, Members In Black Security Company. These recipients have exemplified the character, dedication and service deserving of this award.
