Tijuana River Estuary - Tropicalization Across Borders

Tijuana River Estuary - Tropicalization Across Borders

Join the Government Publications Section for a live webinar on Tijuana River Estuary - Tropicalization Across Borders on Thursday, October 26th, at 4:00PM!

The California State Library is pleased to partner with the California State Parks for the third presentation in a series of webinars. Join Tijuana River Estuary Research Coordinator Dr. Jeff Crooks and Education Coordinator Anne Marie Tipton as they discuss the effects of tropicalization on the ecosystem of the Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve. Tropicalization is a climate change phenomenon in which warm-water species expand into cooler areas where they were formerly rare or absent. The Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve is located immediately north of the international border between the U.S. and Mexico. This unique location, where people and natural systems straddle an artificial boundary, adds a variety of challenges as well as opportunities to collaborate in addressing tropicalization.
