Garrett Shields is the senior librarian for the Witkin State Law Library with over eight years of experience, specializing in California legislative and regulatory research. Prior to working as a law librarian, he worked as a public reference librarian and in the Government Publications Section of the California State Library. He enjoys assisting library patrons looking for a needle in a legal haystack, and helping them navigate the varied and voluminous publications relating to California’s legal history.
Elena Smith is a reference and outreach librarian for the Witkin State Law Library, a premier collection of legal materials. In addition to over a year and a half of experience as a law librarian, she has over a decade of experience helping patrons with their research in a wide variety of local libraries and archives. Her professional passions include historic California law and public access to legal resources.
