The California State Library has been collecting federal government documents since becoming a federal depository in 1890. While digital access has made government information more widely available than ever, it has also made it more vulnerable to loss when websites change.

In this webinar, our Federal documents librarians will demonstrate strategies for finding and making sense of current and archived government information. Learn how to track changes, locate key documents, and ensure long-term access to critical federal information.

Bradley Seybold is a senior librarian in the Government Publications Section with over a dozen years of experience working with both government documents and law materials. Prior to working for the California State Library, he worked as a law librarian in state government. He enjoys serving as the regional librarian for the Federal Depository Library Program in California and working with patrons on their research questions.  

Emily Mackensen is a librarian in the Government Publications Section and also serves as the representative for the California State Library’s Patent and Trademark Resource Center. Prior to joining the California State Library, she worked at public libraries in the Bay Area and for various State agencies.
