Depositions on TV: A Lawyer's Take on the Process

Depositions on TV: A Lawyer's Take on the Process

Join the Witkin State Law Library for a live webinar titled "Depositions on TV: A Lawyer's Take on the Process" on Thursday, November 13th at 12 PM!

Using scenes from popular TV shows, this presentation will demystify depositions in civil litigation. Former civil litigator Jasmin Darron will examine how depositions are portrayed in the media, discuss their role in the discovery process, and provide guidance on preparing for them. You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of this important legal procedure, seen through the eyes of an attorney who has taken and defended depositions.

Jasmin E. Darron is an attorney and the founder of Darron Investigations, where she specializes in conducting independent workplace and campus investigations. Jasmin investigates sensitive matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other misconduct in employment or pursuant to Title IX. An important part of her practice involves training organizations and schools on how to build robust investigation policies, focusing on best practices for interviewing and report writing. You can also hear more of her insights on her podcast, "Darron Insights,” where she shares her thoughts on topics in the education and employment law space.
